"Ryan" was born on September 29, 1979 and was the sire of 75 American Champions, and 35
Canadian Champions, including many offspring who are themselves ROM/ROMC producers.
He is #3 on the list of Top U.S. Sheltie Sires of all-time. He became widely known for his
beautiful head, soft sweet expression, tremendous bone and coat, and above all, a loving,
outgoing and intelligent disposition, traits which he passed on to his puppies with amazing
consistency.
Bred by Becky and Charlie Cram of Sunnybrook Shelties, Ryan was purchased at 13 weeks
of age by Robin Sommers Castaldi. Despite the fact that, since Robin was fairly new to the
breed, Ryan was not used as heavily as dogs owned by famous kennels, he still amassed an
amazing siring record because of his ability to put his "stamp" on his puppies.
Ryan produced many multi-champion litters, top winners and top producers, and he is found
in the pedigrees of countless influential Shelties today.
